Today, we’re breaking down the concept of church membership and turning the perspective on its head. We’re taking you on a journey from viewing the church as a transactional subscription to seeing it as an embassy – a distinct cultural representation of the kingdom of God. 

We’re going to further explore the importance of church membership in the Christian faith, examining its biblical foundations, and looking at the early church’s model – one that involved repentance, baptism, and communal living. We also delve into the different metaphors that describe the church, each one teaching us something about its purpose. From a body, a flock, to a bride – these images illustrate the church’s function, the role of elders, and the responsibility to watch out for false teachings. 

Lastly, we’ll engage in a conversation about the church’s beliefs and values and how they play out in daily living. We’ll talk about the significance of having a genuine belief in Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior and the importance of having a clear statement of faith.
